Pain Management
Injury and decay can leave teeth and gums sore. The first step to relieving pain often involves the use of today’s pain relievers and pain management strategies. And most people find complete relief from discomfort when we use our standard medicines to freeze mouth surfaces and then the underlying tissues, including the roots of teeth.
But there are patients who have special requirements. We approach sensitivities, including anxiety, by discussing ways to get pain relief that have worked in the past. We may also suggest a range of extra steps, from the use of nitrous oxide to complete sedation.
Our Clinic takes a conservative approach to pain management. That is, we will begin by proposing an adequate pain management technique, such as simple freezing. We will then discuss more complex procedures. We will settle for the first acceptable alternative, considering its risks and benefits.
